It is no wonder that Marc Jacobs is a top name in the fashion industry. He was awarded the highest of honors in design school, including student of the year. Shortly after graduation he designed his first collection under his own label and became the youngest designer to be awarded the industry’s highest acknowledgment, The Perry Ellis Award for New Talent. He went on to also win the Women’s Designer of the Year Award for his grunge collection in 1992.

It is not unexpected that 16 years after winning the Women’s Designer of the Year Award the Marc Jacobs name is considered one of the most trendy and sought after brands in the industry. Marc Jacobs now owns 60 stores worldwide and is continuing to open new stores not only worldwide, but in the Far East as well. New locations can also be found this fall in London, Paris, and Madrid.

Marc Jacobs has impressed clients with an original line of perfumes, eyewear, watches, and a tabletop collection. Many of the Marc Jacobs perfumes are available for a limited time only, and sell out quick due to high demand. What’s more Marc Jacobs features a children’s line titled, Little Marc Jacobs. Even children can be up-to-the-minute under his label.

In addition to being a giant in the fashion trade, Marc Jacobs is also big on giving. Marc Jacobs is involved in over 50 charities, and believes in giving back to the communities that have made his name one of the top labels in design.

Sean John is a clothing line catering to men’s, women’s and boy’s apparel. Owned by Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, this clothing line was formed in 1998. The Sean John clothing line is made to appeal to men and women ages 12-45. In 2001, the Sean John clothing line took its national debut as its runway show was broadcast on live television all over the world. While Sean John does have its own store that opened in 2004 in New York City,it has not become a national “chain” yet. With the prime location of Fifth Avenue in the heart of New York City, the Sean John store has become a worldwide tourist destination. You can find the exquisite design of Sean John in many upper scale stores such as Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Belk, and Fred Segal.
Sean John is a hip hop mogul and is known to be the richest entertainer under the age of 40. His clothing line proves to be in style, well made, and quality pieces of clothing. Being so wealthy, Sean has acquired certain tastes in clothes and he shares his style and expertise with the whole world through his clothing line.
His first public released line of clothing was his men’s sportswear line that debut in 1999. This line is credited to giving Sean John most of his success. Once put out in stores like Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s, this line proved to be an immediate success. In 2000 and 2001, Combs was nominated for the Council of Fashion Designers of America Award as menswear designer of the year.

Christian Audigier

Christian Audigier was born in 1958 in Avignon, France as Christian Ginutti. Audigier wanted to become a rockstar when he was younger, but he lacked musical talent, so he found his gift in outfitting the musicians. You still can see his attitude and musical flavor in every piece he designs.

He worked for brands like Diesel, Lee or Kookai before he had his first big success with Von Ducth and the trucker style caps.

He now is the driving force behind the brand Ed Hardy. Therefore he bought the name rights of the famous tattoo artist Donald Edward Hardy. Inspired by Johnny Hallyday he founded SMET. Another brand is Crystal Rock, which is named after his daughter, Crystal.

Audigier uses his celebrity to promote his many brands. He for example constantly appears in the Next Topmodel series of America, Australia and Germany. His appearances there really boosted the success of the Ed Hardy brand.
